Q. Guest WiFi access issues: I am unable to connect to Inova-Guest WiFi.

All patients, family members, and visitors have access to Inova's Guest WiFi. Please try troubleshooting your device's access before reporting a WiFi outage.

To use the Guest WiFi:

1) In your device's WiFi settings, select Inova-Guest to connect to the local, unsecured WiFi.

2) Next, open a new browser window on your device and try to search for any topic. You should see a screen that asks you to agree to use the Inova-Guest WiFi in a responsible way. Click Yes or I agree.

If you do not see this window, and you are unable to search the internet as needed, you may need to adjust your device's or your web browser's security settings. These settings depend on your specific device and browser, and we cannot cover all possibilities here.(You can use your smartphone's data to find out how to allow access to unsecured WiFi / security settings for your device or browser).

3) You should then be able to use Inova-Guest WiFi for most of your needs. Exceptions: some websites will not allow you to connect to them using unsecured WiFi and other websites may be restricted if they violate Inova's internet safety policies.

4) If you are still having trouble connecting to Inova-Guest WiFi, you may need to move to a different area in the building (near a window or into a hallway), at least to make the initial connection.

5) To report Inova-Guest WiFi errors such as "No Internet Connection" or if you have tried the above and are unable to connect, ask an Inova team member to report Guest WiFi outage to IT via ServiceHub. 

The team member should provide IT with the following information:

• Confirm that you are unable to connect to Inova-Guest WiFi
• Provide your location as specifically as possible:
  • Hospital / Address
  • Building
  • Floor
  • Suite/Department/Floor
• If known, are different devices experiencing the same connection issue? (ex: iPhone and MacBook, your Android phone and another visitor's phone or device)
